Once you begin your adventure, you should take some time exploring the room. Investigate the objects around you using the Left Mouse Button. You may have noticed a timer in the bottom right hand corner. That's a countdown to the next Alchemical Inspection. If the countdown runs out and you have any suspicious items laying about, it's game over! Due to some sneaky alchemy secrets, the candles in the room with turn blue if there is anything left in the room that the Inspectors will find.

During your initial exploration, you will have no doubt discovered the four raw elements generators in this room. There's the water bucket, earth pile, wood pile, and sugar sack. You'll use these to create all the special elements in the game.

To use the Fusion Device, you'll place an item on each board and then click on the cauldron. If it's a recognized recipe, you'll produce a new item in a shower of sparks! If it's not you'll hear a dull thud and nothing will happen. Try this combination below:

Sugar + Water = _______

Now that you've produced a special item, the candles would have turned blue. You know what that means! If you don't find somewhere to hide it soon, the inspectors will shut you down! Try investigating those chests....

Once you're safe from the police, you continue your experimentation! The furnace takes one flammable item in the bottom and something else to cook or bake on the top. Try these recipes now:

Burn[ Wood ] ---> Mixed Ore = ________

Burn[ Wood ] ---> Wood = ________

Now your staring to get it! The furnace can uses any flammable item as fuel, but the fuel you use may change the product. With that in mind try refining Mixed Ore using the second product. These pattern will hold a lot in the game.

By now you should have passed a few inspections, but keep in mind the more products you make, the less hiding space you'll have! Stockpiling is generally discouraged. Lets move on to the final machine, the press! This machine takes three similar items and combines them into a more compacted form. Try this recipe:

Wood / Wood / Wood = ________

As you proceed into the game you may want to try pressing the metals you collect into new alloys. With that you have everything under your belt to discover the Philosopher's Stone! Try recording your recipes on paper so your prepared in case you are found out by the Alchemical Police and have to start over. Good Luck!

If you are finding the recipe discovery to be tedious, you can see the full set of recipes below:

This game was made for the Mini Jam 57 - Underground. The design limitation required that the whole game be played in a single room. I've been studying Unity3d on Udemy so I thought I would try it out. Development went really well and the Unity Asset Store made it very easy to put together this great looking scene.

Thanks to Mike Koenig from SoundBible for some of the sound effects and all the great folks who have put their Asset Packs up for public use on the Unity Asset Store. They made this project possible!

Also you can open the door by slipping something behind it!

interesting game! unfortunately I wasn't able to achieve the goal. will try again soon :)

Dont feel bad, even knowing all the recipes it took me 40 minutes to playtest. Classic example of scope getting too big! Thanks for playing TNTC!
