Cardastrophe is a single player card slinging adventure where you fight challengers using unique pre-made decks, but there's a twist! Your magical cards seem to have a mind of their own and you have lost control of them! Each turn one card will play itself, with or without your consent! The one handle you have on the situation is the ability to discard one card each turn before they go rouge.

Can you defeat all three challengers? ... or will RNG take you to an early grave?!!

Controls

  • Use the mouse, A and D Keys, or the Left and Right Arrow keys to select a card
  • Discard/Activate a Card using the RETURN / ENTER key, or the left-mouse button

Gameplay Explanation

Each turn is built of four phases:

  1. Draw Phase
  2. Discard Phase
  3. Random Phase
  4. Enemy Attack

In the Draw Phase, you will draw one additional card, unless you have none, in which case you will be given a spanking brand new card of five cards!

You will then enter the Discard Phase, where you will choose one of the cards to remove from your hand. Some cards will harm you if played, so make sure to catch these before they get a chance to bite you. Sometimes you may have to make a difficult decision, so weigh your options and choose wisely!

Your cards are jumping out of your sleeves! In the Random Phase, one card will be randomly selected and played. Cards can do all sorts of things, so do your best to influence the pick in your favor!

The Challenger has been patiently watching you fumble with your lawless slips of paper but now it's their turn! The challenger will let loose with a devastating blow! Effects may vary.

This game was really fun, and the mechanic of only discarding cards was really unique. I would have added a pixel art background to the game because the green background was fairly boring to look at.  A tutorial would have been nice as well so you don't have to read the gameplay explanation at the bottom. Otherwise, the game was great! Keep designing games and doing what you are doing.
